Consortium of Chinese railways companies will made studies of the Lima - Ica Railway

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) reported on December 10 that it signed a contract with a consortium led by Chinese railways companies, to prepare the pre-investment study for the Lima - Ica Cercanias Train, of 323.7 k.m.
The consortium is made up of China Railway, CREEC Peru (China Railways Eryuan Engineering Group Co.), Vitrubio Ingeniería, Fynsa Ingenieros.
As you will remember (see post of this blog), China Railways, the second Chinese and global railway company, was the only bidder for the same project in the previous modality, self-funded private initiative, but strangely it was excluded from the contest that was declared void, for reasons still not exposed to public opnions by PROINVERSION, whose pressident resigned weeks later, before the questions of the political leaders of the Ica Region.
For its part, CREEC was commissioned at 2016 by the Chinese government to carry out the previous study of the Brazil Peru bioceanic connection, which was dismissed by former President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
According to the MTC, in 2021 the choice of the project, which will now be a co-financed public investment, and which will be the first non-urban railway to be built in Peru after almost a century, must be adjusted.
